Tenerife and Las Palmas

So this is really the end, but it's the best part:
If I could sprinkle gold glitter on the sand, I would.  That way you could see what I saw on the  beach of Las Palmas de  Gran Canaria.  It was so beautiful.  It was , so no one was around. Tony suggested I shower in a bowl here so we could sift the gold out and PIRATE it.

Contrast with this at our port yesterday.
There were two HUGE cruise ships we walked by to get to our ship, which was less huge, but still ridiculous.  I had a night of guilt about waste and smoke and pollution and cruising and air travel and why does the travel industry put this on us to save the earth from climate change?  Uggh.  My lucky children woke up to that today.  I'm sure they loved it. " Thanks , Mom."  Eye roll.

We have noticed that the Espanish have no restraint about Christmas.  They don't have that wall of Thanksgiving to hold them back.  There are giant light sculptures of Christmas trees everywhere in the port cities.  The decorations are strung across walkways.  There are Ornaments and Gnomes and Reindeer and Elves in window displays.  We walked through a mall today to get back to the boat, and sleighs and giant characters were hanging from the ceiling.

Outdoors, indoors.  Everywhere.  It's Christmas.  I'm not kidding.
This guy.  It must have taken hours.

Here's a statue we found yesterday in Tenerife.
It's a man holding up branches of all the  thoughts and feelings and fears we carry.  It's called "I'm Fine".  I love it .  If you want to Google it,  it's called "Lo Llevo Bien" by Julio Nieto.

We also found this neat playground.
With an Opera House behind it.

And this playground:

And this insane playground:
It's called "Rio" in case you want to book a room.

There might be one here,  but we couldn't be sure.

This is our life and we are thankful for it.
Byeeee!  See ya soon.  Next stop:
Gibralter, Nov 18th.
