Starting with my most memorable photo. The chandelier in the men's section of the Mosque. It weighs 8.5 tons, it has 600,000 crystals and an interior staircase for maintenence.
This Mosque is pristine and polished.
Not unlike some of the grand Cathedrals of Europe, only much newer. The construction began in the 1970s and finished in the early 2000s.
The floors are beautifully laid out in 4×3 rectangles for prayer.
This is the women's side.
This is the men's side.
As I was standing there covered wrist to ankle, also with a headscarf beside Tony, in jeans and a TShirt, I tried to find a way to make this not look sexist. I found myself thinking..."I hate to think that religion could be misogynistic. " (any religion) hahahahaha
Glad I didn't say it out loud.
Verses of the Quran written all around the Plaza.
